So, this is the first time I have had a blog on my site. Well aware that I am home to a number of contradictions, I am both enthusiastic about computer technology and the internet and at the same time something of a troglodyte. So I am frequently in the rears with current technologies and internet rituals. I understand that blogs cover a broad area of communications, from specific subjects to diaries to casual or serious musing over a variety of topics that have significance to the writer. Let's see how it goes. - June 2010

I begin my blog rather messed-up. My beloved dog, nine-year-old beautiful, wonderful Airedale, Victor, passed away a little over a week ago. I feel distinctly amputated and am misty-eyed half the time.

What that means for the site is that I am in the rears already, not having made my self-appointed dead-line. Also expect a tribute to my baby.

So, the plan is to load the basics and code my assorted essays, poems and fiction.

It makes perfect sense to me, having termed a blog as either a diary or a selection of topics significant to the author, to begin with a prose ode to my brothers.

In future, I intend to include a garden diary. Yes, you read it correctly. Gardening is the best hobby in the world. Fresh air, exercise, aesthetic contentment, and you get to see the result of your labours right away.

Currently working on a cyberpunk short and a children's novel.
